How cute am I?

Monday 23rd March 2015

check out the Just Lovely Pictures gallery for a photo from February 1982 of Dawn and her Cairn Mandy.

Dawn was aged just 9 when this photo was taken; it appeared in the local daily paper.
The show was Bromsgrove Limited show which is one of the few Limited show societies to still be around today. In fact, we still show there now and Kirsty won Best Puppy In Show in February 2015.

Mandy was sired by Jean Curtis' famous Toptwig boy - Toptwig Night Raider - he won 2 CC's and loads of RCC's, never quite made up but was a wonderful handsome dog - I can remember going over him whilst learning to feel for good shoulders!

Happy memories....

From times gone by....

Saturday 14th March 2015

I have been off work today with a nasty bug and to help myself feel better, I decided to take a trip down memory lane.....
I ended up going through Crufts results and reports on the Midland website.
I found this one from 2004 written by Jim Jeffrey when Toblerone won BOB:
OPEN DOG  ( 13 ) What an outstanding class of adult males, 6 British Champions,5 Overseas Champions and 2 without their titles, who, in my opinion are worthy Champions.   Any one of these dogs could have won this class and it was hard to leave any without a card. It was the best class of dogs I have ever judged and it was a great honour to go over so many very good cairns.  1st    Mrs Harrison & Mrs Formosa’s CH.  CARRADINE  TOBLERONE Dark brindle.  Fits the standard in all aspects, great head and expression, correctly made front, strong quarters, excellent body shape, topline and tail carried correctly, good hard coat. Moved around the ring like a well oiled machine without any effort, about the best I have seen him move.  Dog CC  & B.O.B

I also found this from the Midland Champ show in 2009 when Geir Flyckt Pederson judged: BPIS Inett's Carradine Crackaway Jack, just over 6 mths of age. so well behaved and well trained! performing like a veteran! lovely type and size, good body and topline. To describe a puppy this age in detail is a waste of time - as so much will happen in the next few months, but he shows great promise and moved and showed so well. Lovely legs and feet, good bone. May I also mention, that his owner/handler showed a number of dogs during the day, all well trained and well presented. An example to follow

Well, after reading those and others, I feel better already :-)

Pups move out

Friday 13th March 2015

Today is a day of mixed emotions, three of Lola’s babies move out! I am sad to see them go but excited for them on a new adventure with their forever families. Down to five babies now – quite a change from 12.... They have been a lot of work this last week, particularly as I haven’t been well since Crufts! I need to arrange a train trip with the pups soon – any volunteers?
